What a lovely photograph; thank you to whomever posted it. My father, Gwyn James (Nantyglo; second row and fourth from the right), his dear friend Edgar Hiscox in the centre back. Very poignant to think that their tertiary education was interrupted by the war not long after this photo was taken. Third from the right in the back row is the man who went on to be a sports teacher in Hafod y Ddol,and whose name I have forgotten.
Yes, I think that is my grandfather, Edgar Hiscox, centre rear as suggested. I believe he was quite talented on the rugby field – amazing to see him in this photo.

Looks like my old chemistry teacher,Edgar Hiscox at centre rear,tallest one.Great guy.
Pleased to see my father, back row on left. Went on to play for St.Mary’s hospital where his team was also invincible.
